Welcome to the Writing Center
Writing is a social activity– it is done in collaboration with others. Writing Centers offer space to collaborate with peers and grow as writers. At the UConn Writing Centers, we value the opportunity to work with writers at all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming to editing. We also value the opportunity to collaborate with writers from all disciplines and boast a diverse staff, with majors from microbiology to economics to political science and linguistic capabilities from Mandarin to Spanish to German. Graduate students, faculty, staff, undergraduate students, and community members are all welcome.

Students of all proficiency levels and at all stages in their academic careers use the Center as a place to participate in the same kind of collegial intellectual engagement that characterizes academic work throughout the university.

A welcoming space where we collaborate on writing, prioritizing long-term growth. Recognizing the ethical dimensions of writing, we challenge inequities and advocate for students of all linguistic backgrounds, identities, and abilities.
Waterbury
Professionally trained peer tutors help students understand writing assignments, organize ideas, fine-tune thesis statements, develop more effective sentences, organize paragraphs, prepare citations, and more.
Avery Point
The Academic Center is the tutoring headquarters for all UConn students at the Avery Point campus. We offer one-on-one tutoring for every course, including writing in the disciplines.
Stamford
The Writing Center is staffed by peer tutors who support students with writing assignments at any stage of the process, from brainstorming to final revisions. We also have tutors that are fluent in several languages.
